Mr. Amer Hashmi is a distinguished strategist and thought leader recognized for shaping Pakistan’s technology and innovation ecosystem. A graduate of York University and Harvard Kennedy School’s prestigious leadership program, he began his career at IBM Global Services in North America before pioneering Pakistan’s first private-sector data centers, laying the foundation for managed services and enterprise digitalization.

With over two decades of international leadership experience, Mr. Hashmi has driven national initiatives in technology policy, economic development, and innovation-led growth under the triple helix model of innovation between government, academia, and industry. As Founding Chairman of the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA), he led the establishment of the regulatory framework for Pakistan’s knowledge-based economy. As Co-Chair, Advisory Board of the Quantum Global Data Center, he provides strategic direction for building a next-generation data center in Karachi, Pakistan.
