Gul Ahmed Energy Group is one of Pakistan’s leading power generation groups. Established in 1994 by (Late) Mr. Iqbal Alimohamed, the Group initiated operations with a thermal power plant located in Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi. Since then, we have diversified into to Wind & Power Solutions, with a power generation capacity of 236 Megawatts (MW) in total. As a forward-looking organization, we are continuously exploring new frontiers in infrastructure and technology, including the evolution into digital infrastructure with the development of QuantumGlobal Data Centre – a state-of-the-art facility aimed at supporting the country’s growing digital and cloud ecosystem.

Our latest initiative, QuantumGlobal Data Centre (QGDC), is a direct extension of this vision—bringing world-class digital infrastructure to Pakistan and positioning the country on the global technology map.

About Us
QuantumGlobal Data Centre is a next-generation technology venture by Gul Ahmed Energy Group, established to meet Pakistan’s growing demand for secure, localized digital infrastructure. As most of the nation’s data is currently hosted offshore, QGDC strengthens digital sovereignty by delivering world-class, energy-efficient, and scalable data center solutions within Pakistan.
The facility is being developed on a 30-acre site within Gul Ahmed Energy Limited (GAEL), supported by a fully operational 136 MW captive power plant. This strategic location enables uninterrupted power and fast-track deployment of mission critical infrastructure, making it an ideal hub for enterprise, telecommunication, and cloud services.
Designed to meet the needs of hyperscale and enterprise clients, QGDC offers secure, scalable, and sustainable data center solutions with advanced IT/OT systems, robust cybersecurity, and compliance with international standards. We aim to serve key sectors targeting startups, freelancers, SME marketplace, large enterprise and selected government services, powering Pakistan’s digital future while staying true to our group’s legacy of excellence.
Development of a Leading Science & Technology Park
The foundation of QGDC will be a ‘Special Technology Zone’ (STZ) named Karachi Technopolis (KT). Hence, QGDC will be the anchor tenant for the STZ, with KT and QGDC becoming a hub for economic activity.
KT’s strategic advantage lies in its central location within Karachi, serving as a bridge between high-tech professionals and economic markets. This venture will encompass a ‘Triple Helix Alliance’ between the Government, Academia & Corporate that will create a dynamic Knowledge Ecosystem; drawing together the best intellectual minds, their research and the latest technologies in a wide number of areas to catalyze activity in the region and develop a unique Knowledge Based Technology Industry Cluster. Furthermore, it acts as an incubating base for private sector ventures, a training base for nurturing skills and as an experimental zone for new technologies.
